It has been established from the applications and complaints made to the Turkish Revenue Administration that fraud attempts were made recently aiming to deceive Turkish taxpayers / citizens as well as foreign taxpayers / citizens through fake e-mails, payment orders, payment stop order confirmations, VAT exemption certificates arranged within the framework of Turkey-EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) legislation and other alike methods. For this reason, there is an urgent need to make the following announcement in order to prevent our taxpayers and citizens from being victims of such fraud attempts.

– The Turkish Revenue Administration does not communicate in any shape or form with taxpayers via e-mail concerning taxation procedures (including tax refund).

Fake text messages directing to certain telephone numbers are not sent by our Revenue Administration and have not any connection with our institution.

Fake payment orders, payment stop order confirmations, arrangement of certificates and alike attempts are aiming to obtain unfair material benefit through deception and fraud, which do not have any connection with the Turkish Revenue Administration of the Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey.

It is respectfully announced to the public that it is strongly recommended that our taxpayers and citizens are on full alert for forgery and fraud attempts aiming to obtain material benefit or credit card information through the aforementioned or alike methods, that they disregard such fake documents, e-mails, text messages, etc. and that in case of any questions, information and notices they contact Tax Communication Center via info@turkirspaye.com (the service is available only in English).
